One interesting new 3DS title that (almost) slipped through the net in yesterday's Nintendo press release was Fluidity: Spin Cycle.

All we know from the list of dates supplied by The Big N is the game's name and that it'll be coming to the Nintendo eShop sometime during the fourth quarter of 2012.

The original Fluidity (pictured above) was a well-received physics-based WiiWare puzzler. It involves tilting the controller to manipulate a pool of water.

Curveball?

We reached out to the original developer of Fluidity, Curve, but received the following reply: "I believe the game you are referring to is a Nintendo game, so you would need to refer your inquiry to Nintendo."

Does this mean that development of Fluidity: Spin Cycle has been handed to another team? Or is this a nice way of saying 'don't ask us, ask the publisher'? We've asked for clarification to establish that very point.

Either way, we're looking forward to taking some tilty-turny physics action out with us on our Nintendo 3DS later in the year.
