Zombie-filled homage Organ Trail: Director's Cut pulls up on Android and iOS

Organ Trail: Directors Cut, the Kickstarter-funded zombie-filled homage to video game classic The Oregon Trail, has finally driven onto iOS and Android.

Based on the free Flash game of the same name, Organ Trail: Director's Cut sees you and four friends heading out West in a battered station wagon on a 1,000-mile trip to try and avoid the ravages of a zombie apocalypse.

In case you were worried, Organ Trail: Director's Cut IS every bit as tough as its inspiration. And, yes, it still features the most fearsome video game enemy of them all: dysentery.

The mobile version features a new UI, a bunch of achievements to unlock, a "faithfully recreated" Apple II aesthetic, and a soundtrack composed of myriad bleeps and bloops.

Furthermore, there are bandits to hire for protection, food to be scavenged for, and more zombies than you can shake a stick at to be eviscerated. Your crew can be bitten and turned, too, leaving you to finish them off with a well-aimed gunshot.

Organ Trail: Director's Cut is out now on iOS and Android for the bargain price of just £1.99 / $2.99.
