The next Angry Birds Space update will see our feathered heroes flinging themselves around everyone's favourite red planet: Mars.

The teaser video for this update - which is posted below and was made in collaboration with NASA - begins with some text detailing the 352-million-mile journey of the Mars Curiosity Rover, which is due to touch down on the Martian surface on August 6th.

We then cut to POV footage from the rover itself, which seems to have discovered a large catapult strap lying on the rocky ground.

Just as we're finding our bearings, we see the square shadow of what appears to be the Ice Bird passing overhead. Then, the feed cuts out.

"It's great to be working with NASA again," Peter Vesterbacka, Rovio's Mighty Eagle / CMO said.

"We are as excited as they are for the Mars Curiosity Rover landing, and can't wait to see the footage on this weekend!"

The Red Planet update is due to land sometime this autumn, so be sure to keep your telescopes trained on the Pocket Gamer Hub for more details.
