Block-breaking RPG Wizorb coming to iOS 'soon-ish'

Tribute Games co-founder JF Major released a teaser tweet to his fans that suggested his studio might bring Wizorb to the iPhone.

Shortly after the teaser, he confirmed that an iOS version is indeed on the way and it looks great.

Released in the fall of 2011 for the Xbox Live Indie Games Channel, Wizorb blends a unique mixture of traditional brick-breakers such as Arkanoid with pixelated RPGs such as Final Fantasy.

In other words: you smash bricks with bouncing balls, and battle huge bosses while consuming potions and keeping an eye on your magic points.

Given its unique gameplay and design, it is no surprise that Wizorb became a cult favourite since its release.

While details of the iOS Wizorb release are still slim, Major confirmed that Wizorb would be released as a universal app with Game Center integration.

The iOS version has not received a trailer yet, but the trailer for the PC version from Steam will give you a good idea of what you can expect from Wizorb.
