PG Applympics 2012: Your virtual guide to the event
|

Greetings, Pocket Gamer readers.

As you may or may not know, the three-week long PG Applympics 2012 is being held this summer in Bath, England.

After a vibrant, inspiring, and - dare I say it - rather progressive opening ceremony on July 26th on the grounds of Kelston Park, Bath, deputy editor for Pocket Gamer Will Wilson officially declared the inaugural edition of the PG Applympics open.

App competitors from across the planet have converged on Bath to participate in a series of six gruelling events over July and August. With a difference.

'What be that difference?' I hear you ask. Well, despite OUR selecting the eight qualifiers for the six sporting disciplines, we're gonna let YOU decide the winner.

Ready... set... vote!

Every Monday, Kelston Park will play host to two PG Applympics events. Over the following five days, you will be able to vote for your favourite game from the eight-strong entry list on our Facebook page.

Qualifying heats for each of the six PG Applympics 2012 events - catapulting, fighting, shooting, platforming, running, and swimming - were staged in early July at PG Towers, by the way, so, yes, the competition will be fierce. But fair.

To keep you up to speed with the action over the following three weeks or so, we'll be regularly updating this article. Make sure you bookmark this page, basically.
