Yesterday, Apple published its financial results for Q3 2012, noting that it had sold 26 million iPhones, a record 17 million iPads, and 6.8 million iPods during the past fiscal quarter.

In a press release on his company's financial results, Apple CEO Tim Cook proceeded to tickle the excitement glands of Apple watchers / fans everywhere by casually stating that "we are also really looking forward to the amazing new products we've got in the pipeline."

Now, we all know that the iPhone 5 is already somewhere up that pipeline, and that the next iteration of Apple's all-conquering smartphone will probably be unveiled in September / October.

What we aren't too sure about, though, are the other products to which Cook is alluding in the abovementioned statement.

What's next?

If I were a pessimist, I'd suggest that Cook was just referring to a new iMac line, not least because the iMac hasn't been updated since May 2011. It's due an upgrade, basically.

If I were an optimist, on the other hand, I'd imagine Cook was referring to the so-called iPad mini, the heavily rumoured iTV, and a remodelled iPod touch.

With regards to the iPad mini, only yesterday we reported on a rumour that a 7-inch version of Apple's tablet could be making its first appearance as early as September, despite Steve Jobs's reservations over that particular form factor.

Of course, the reference to "products" could be to something exciting and revolutionary that no one's thought of before. Either way, we shouldn't have to wait too long. Hopefully.
