Team17 has announced that its classic Amiga shooter Alien Breed will be arriving on iOS in August.

Alien Breed sees you creeping around a ship and blasting aliens that (most certainly don't) bear a striking resemblance to the creatures found in certain space-based films by Ridley Scott and James Cameron.

The iOS version of the game will feature three sets of maps: two are taken from Alien Breed and Alien Breed Special Edition, while the third set is an all-new bunch of levels called Alien Breed Convergence.

Support for the iCade Arcade Cabinet will be included off the bat, too, which will no doubt please those hankering for the original joystick experience.
