Rumour: Samsung to release a larger 5.5-inch Galaxy Note in October

Is it a phone? Is it a tablet? It's a tablet

Rumour: Samsung to release a larger 5.5-inch Galaxy Note in October

You know what I really hated about Samsung's 5.3-inch Galaxy Note 'phablet'? It was far too small.

I mean, who could possibly use a tablet-phone with those dinky dimensions? Not I, that's for sure.

So, today's rumour about Samsung beavering away on an even bigger Galaxy Note is exactly the sort of thing I'd be interested in. If I were a madman.

Note to self

MK Business is reporting that Samsung is readying a 5.5-inch variant of the Galaxy Note, with the larger shell packing in a quad-core processor along with an impressive 12-megapixel camera and - presumably - a stylus.

Despite the bigger screen, the actual dimensions of the refreshed Galaxy Note will remain the same, MK Business reports. If so, that would undermine the introduction to this article. Curses.

The revised tablet-phone is expected to ship with Jelly Bean pre-installed, and will allegedly get an official unveiling next month at IFA 2012 in Germany. The device itself is reportedly due to be released in October.
