A few months back, we caught wind of a forthcoming PS Vita music title called Orgarhythm, which is being developed by Tak Hirai - one of the key figures behind Dreamcast titles Shenmue and Space Channel 5.

Today, we've learnt that this rhythm-based title will also be released for Tegra-powered Android smartphones and tablets. Big news.

Pocket Gamer went hands-on with Orgarhythm during this year's E3 conference. During this hands-on time, we discovered that by tapping and swiping your device's screen, you can command troops to launch attacks on evil demons.

These attacks play out in time with the game's background music, while a rock-paper-scissors hierarchy determines the outcome of each battle.

"Nvidia Tegra powered devices gave us the freedom to not only implement high resolution textures to take advantage of the HD screens, but the multiple cores also gave us the kick in performance that we needed to really make Orgarhythm THD shine," Richie Casper, Acquire Corp's creative director, said.

Acquire Corp's Sumioni, which is already available for the PS Vita, will also be available for Tegra-powered Android devices in the "coming months".

In case you aren't familiar with it, this sketch-'em-up allows you to draw platforms on your device's screen that can used to navigate each of the game's levels, cast elemental magic, and summon otherworldly beasties.

"The HD screen resolution allowed us to show the true beauty of the Sumi-E art style that we used in the game," Junichiro Tamura, a producer at Acquire Corp, said.
