| The Act

The cartoon slapstick action of The Act will be dropping onto the UK and US App Stores at midnight this evening, priced £1.99 / $2.99.

Originally designed as an arcade game back in 2006, The Act sees you helping Edgar the window cleaner as he tries to get with the girl while saving his idiot brother from bother.

The action plays out much like Dragon's Lair in that every scene only allows a limited selection of inputs from the player.

The upshot of this restriction is that it looks like you're taking part in a cartoon, with story and quality of animation assuming more of a central role in proceedings.

Smooth moves

You probably won't be too surprised to find out that, like Dragon's Lair visuals, The Act's graphics have been hand drawn by ex-Disney animators.

They look good in screenshots, but look fantastic in motion (as you'll see in the video below).

The Act will be falling down some stairs and onto the UK and UK App Stores from midnight as a Universal app, priced at £1.99 / $2.99.
