Match-three puzzler Treasures of Montezuma 2 Free drops onto Google Play

A free-to-play version of Bronze Award-winning match-three sequel Treasures of Montezuma 2 has just dropped into place on Google Play.

Though the Aztec backdrop may be unusual, the stone-swapping gameplay will be familiar to anyone with a passing knowledge of the Bejeweled series or the match-three genre.

If you play in Adventure mode, however, completing levels will earn you currency, which can be spent on rebuilding the Heavenly City of Tenohtitlan.

This mini-game impacts the core experience, as each newly-constructed building adds fresh power-ups and new stones to the grid.

Fix and match

If you're not interested in renovating an ancient city, however, you can always stick with the more traditional Endless and Puzzle modes for some good old-fashioned match-three fare.

Treasures of Montezuma 2 Free can be downloaded for free (unsurprisingly) from Google Play now [download].
