E3 2012: Nintendo confirms holiday 2012 release date for Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

While Nintendo may not have served up any huge surprises during its E3 3DS presentation yesterday, it did issue a lot of information about titles announced earlier in the conference.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon was one such title to receive special attention from Nintendo, who confirmed it will be out around "Christmas 2012".

In Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, you step into the shoes of the 'other' Mario brother as he explores multiple mansions that are used to introduce different game worlds (ice worlds, etc.)

Lights, camera...

Luigi's trusty flashlight will receive a few tweaks in Dark Moon. In addition to a strobe mode that can be used to stun ghosts, it is now capable of firing a multicolor light that will allow you to search for secrets and secret areas.

Nintendo also announced that Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon will be available for purchase at traditional retail outlets and as a digital download through the Nintendo eShop.

Instead of counting down the hours until Christmas 2012, why not check out the new trailer for Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon? It's more fun.
