Ubisoft is reporting that its lovable and high-strung Rabbids are ready to make another outing onto the Nintendo 3DS this fall in Rabbids Rumble.

The premise behind the game is as wacky and simple as the Rabbids themselves: the Rabbids have escaped from the 3DS game and it’s up to the player to catch them.

Those familiar with the franchise and its frenetic characters will know this is easier said than done.

In Rabbids Rumble, players will need to utilise all of the 3DS’s hardware (notably, the camera for augmented reality action) in order to track them down.

With over 100 Rabbids loose in seven game worlds, Rabbids Rumble is looking to deliver a solid amount of gameplay.

Rabbids: the RPG?

Also of interest is the presence of turn-based combat, a first for the Rayman/Rabbids franchise.

Players can deploy the Rabbids they collect, Pokémon style, to do battle with friends in a 1v1 competition.

The collected Rabbids come equipped with zany combat abilities and can become stronger through training. Additionally, players can collect rare Rabbids which Ubisoft plans to make downloadable every week via Spot Pass and gain access to new items and Rabbids by interacting with other 3DS owners via Street Pass.

Rabbids Rumble is scheduled for a November 2012 release.
