Roger Wilco lives to die again
After 20 years of silence, the creative minds behind the beloved Space Quest adventure games are turning to Kickstarter to bring a new installment of the franchise to their fans.
Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe, aka the Two Guys from Andromeda, have big plans for their multiplatform Space Adventure (or SpaceVenture) and will release it for both Android tablets and iPads in addition to PC, Mac, and Linux-based versions.
That is, assuming it can successfully crowdsource its projected $500,000 dollar development budget first.
Seeing starsThe half-million dollar budget for SpaceVenture is slated to bring backers "stunning art and animation, amazing audio, and some of the best voice talent in the industry."
Amongst the voice talent lined up for the game are John Patrick Lowrie (Sniper in Team Fortress 2), Ellen McLain (Portal’s GLaDOS), and Robert Clotworthy (Jim Raynor from Starcraft) amongst others – including the narrator from Space Quest 4 and 6 (Gary Owens).
With talent, goals, and ambitions like these, Murphy and Crowe have an incredible game planned for SpaceVenture.
At time of writing, the Kickstarter campaign sits at $205,000 with 21 days left to meet the $500,000 goal.
