Reuters source corroborates rumours of 4-inch display for next iPhone

A source close to website Reuters has apparently corroborated recent rumours that suggest Apple's forthcoming iPhone iteration will pack a larger screen than the 4S and its predecessors.

According to Reuters's source, South Korean and Japanese display manufacturers will begin to produce a 4-inch screen for the upcoming iPhone in June, which means the Cupertino-based company could be ready to start manufacturing the new smartphone around August.

If that is, indeed, the case, the new iPhone will probably hit store shelves in September or October, which is in line with Apple's iPhone 4S release schedule last year.

Hopefully, we'll hear more about Apple's sixth-generation iPhone at the company's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) next month. I wouldn't put my mortgage on it, though.
