Nicoll Hunt, the developer behind last year's Silver Award-winning iOS and Android puzzler Hard Lines, has pinged us an email to let us know that he's working on a new iOS title called Fist of Awesome.

This upcoming title is a side-scrolling beat-'em-up that is said to "update" the game mechanics of several genre favourites (such as Double Dragon, Streets of Rage, and Final Fight) for a modern audience.

In it, you play Jack Lumber, a forest-dwelling tree feller who inadvertently finds himself caught in the middle of a plot to take over earth using remote-controlled animals.

This game takes place across numerous time periods, and is - to the best of the developer's knowledge - the only iOS title to feature a grizzly bear that punches you square in the chops. Lovely.

There's a teaser trailer for Fist of Awesome below this article, so be sure to check that out. You can also have a gander at the screenshots in our gallery above.
