Copenhagen-based developer Crowdplayce has just announced that it's bringing a new location-based game to Apple's App Store on May 23rd, specifically for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Entitled Mafia Planet - a Real World Online Game, this crime-filled title sees you dive into an unscrupulous world that's run by gangsters and crooks, with the aim of completing jobs until you finally climb the ranks and become a Don.

As a Don, you're tasked with claiming your own hood, which has to be improved, upgraded, and defended at all costs. Naturally, this takes place on real-world maps, meaning you can complete missions in your local area and plunder the areas of your city owned by other players.

As you do this, you'll earn experience points and subsequently level-up and strengthen your mobster.

Mafia Planet - a Real World Online Game will hit the App Store on May 23rd, so grab your brass knuckles and keep an eye out for it.
