One of the top indie titles to appear on the PlayStation, Joe Danger, will be heading to iOS and Android later in the year.

Joe Danger sees you take the role of the eponomous hero as he performs death-defying stunts at the helm of his trusty motorbike - balancing him on his saddle as he overcomes a variety of bizarre obstacles and courses.

Speaking to Gamasutra, developer Hello Games revealed that the smartphone version would be ‘very different’ from the console entry, with a reworked control scheme that takes advantage of the touchscreen’s unique qualities.

Despite the smaller form factor (and the less horsepower that goes with the territory), Hello Games is treating the mobile version of the title “like any console game”, with co-founder Sean Murray going on to say that he didn’t “see a distinction anymore between console and iOS”.

Joe Danger for iOS and Android is expected to arrive later this year.

Will's obsession with gaming started off with sketching Laser Squad levels on pads of paper, but recently grew into violently shouting "Tango Down!" at random strangers on the street. He now directs that positive energy into his writing (due in no small part to a binding court order).
