New World Rally Championship game set to race onto PS Vita this October

The third instalment in the official WRC racing series will be skidding onto PS Vitas everywhere this October, marking the franchise's debut on Sony's newest handheld.

Fans of Sébastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen will be pleased to learn that WRC 3 features every rally from the 2012 World Rally Championship calender and all of the major WRC teams and drivers.

Developed by the folks at Milestone Studios, the game promises "improved crowd effects, rebuilt stages and new cinematic introductions to each stage," courtesy of a brand-new graphics engine.

As for the vehicles, they've been rendered using "new modelling techniques" for maximum realism.

The developer says that it has "streamlined every aspect of the game to allow new players instant gameplay satisfaction", while still catering to the experienced rally driver.

According to publisher Black Bean Games, racing enthusiasts can expect to put WRC 3 through its paces on the Vita sometime in October.
