Gold Award-winning iPad boardgame Ticket to Ride updated to support the new iPad's Retina display

Pocket Gamer Gold Award-winning iPad boardgame Ticket to Ride, which has now been downloaded more than 800,000 times across all iOS devices, has just been updated to fully support the new iPad's Retina display.

This update "dramatically enhances" the Ticket to Ride maps, and allows Days of Wonder to - for the first time - use the same "high-fidelity, finely-detailed paper textures" and background illustrations from the real-world version of the game.

Furthermore, the game's sharper graphics have enabled the game's developer to keep the track symbols for each train route in the game, even when you're playing in normal or non-zoomed mode. This makes it a lot easier for colour blind players to identify different routes on each of the game's maps.

Check out Ticket to Ride's new sparkly Retina display-optimised graphics in the images below and then grab it from the App Store for £2.99 / $4.99.

And while we're on the subject of the new iPad's high-def screen, check out our list of the top ten Retina display-optimised games for Apple's third-generation tablet. Go on.
