Bad news, Windows Phone owners: Rovio has confirmed that you won't be getting your mitts on the rather excellent Angry Birds Space.
That's in spite of the original feather-flinging Angry Birds being the bestselling application on Microsoft's platform.
"We're the number one app in the Windows Phone app store, but it's a big undertaking to support it, and you have to completely rewrite the application," Peter Vesterbacka, Rovio's Mighty Eagle, told website Bloomberg.
"If you look at activations, Apple's iOS and Android are clearly bigger than any other platform. We want to be on all screens, but we have to consider the cost of supplying the smaller platforms. With Windows Phone it's a lot of work to technically support it."
Rovio's chief marketing officer recently revealed to Business Insider that his company is aiming to one day be "much bigger" than Disney.
Vesterbacka believes that the Angry Birds franchise will reach a billion cumulative downloads in the next few months, and reach two billion by the end of the year.Eurogamer
