Punch-Out!!-esque iPhone title Beast Boxing 3D, which managed to jab its way to a Pocket Gamer Silver Award back in 2010, has been updated by its developer Goodhustle Studios.

If you've just spent the money you were meant to be saving for your wife's birthday on one of Apple's new iPads, you'll be pleased to read this update has transformed the iPhone brawler into a Universal title. She'll understand.

Yes, you can now whack your opponents in the face on the iPad's 9.7-inch display, too. The coins you earn as you smack the stuffing out of the game's range of beastly foes can be spent upgrading your fighter.

Beast Boxing 3D has been updated a number of times in the two years since we reviewed it, and now features a bunch of new holiday-themed characters and an all-new Endless mode.

Punch drunk

In order to "encourage people to try" Beast Boxing 3D, its developer is hosting a limited-time 69p / 99c sale.

If you fancy pummelling people repeatedly in the face but don't fancy sharing a shower with a bunch of other criminals (who does), we suggest you grab it from the App Store.
