Gold Award-winning PSP RPG The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky heading to iOS

The rather excellent Pocket Gamer Gold Award-winning PSP role-playing title The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is making its way to Apple's App Store.

According to the head of the game's development support team, though, the iOS edition won't simply be a port of the version found on Sony's handheld.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Takayuki Hatano - despite not being very specific - suggested that the iOS version of the RPG will feature additional story elements. It may even connect to Zero no Kiseki - the next in the Legend of Heroes series.

The iOS release will also be treated to a visual makeover and several interface changes that will allow you to play the game with a single finger. Handy when you're on a crowed train.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky may feature several social features, such as a Social Shop akin to the variety of stores you find in typical RPGs.

Said store, if it's implemented, could allow you to accept quests from friends and - among other things - receive items.

Finally, there's a chance you'll be able to download new characters, scenarios, and more through in-app purchases.

Hatano didn't divulge a release date or a price for The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, but he did admit that it could be difficult to launch the title this year.
