For those of you who aren't familiar with Oh! Edo Towns, prepare to be transported back in time to the Edo period of feudal Japan.
Your mission is to take a dull farm town and develop the land in innovative ways (by building castles, for example) until it becomes a wealthy province bursting with life.
As you'd expect from a Kairosoft title, Oh! Edo Towns boasts colourful 16-bit visuals and a delightfully cheesy soundtrack. In our review of the game, in fact, we labelled it a "mediaeval marvel, brimming with virtual life and character".
