Indie developer Nnooo has announced that it's bringing its retro-styled arcade hit EscapeVektor to the PS Vita and 3DS in late 2012.

In this award-winning WiiWare game, you're tasked with helping Vektor - a mysterious amnesiac - dodge enemies and navigate obstacles as he attempts to escape from a CPU that’s been holding him captive.

The first chapter in the EscapeVektor series debuted on Nintendo's download platform last year, with the remaining three yet to see the light of day.

That's about to change, though, for Nnooo - responsible for Silver Award-winning iPhone game Pop - has decided to "roll them all into one game" and release it on 3DS and Vita in the hope of reaching a "wider audience".

Experiments

Nnooo didn't divulge whether it would release EscapeVektor at retail or through each platform's respective online stores, but both versions of EscapeVektor will feature new enemies, levels, obstacles, and online leaderboards.

The company also revealed that it's experimenting with the Vita's location-based application Near in the new version of EscapeVektor, as well as with the handheld's front and rear touchscreen controls.
