The Xperia X10 may be getting a little long in the tooth now, but it would seem that the XDA development community hasn't forgotten about Sony Ericsson's ageing smartphone.

In fact, thanks to senior XDA developers forumite 'DiKeJ', X10 owners can now port the Xperia Play launcher and its PlayStation certifications across to their mobile, allowing them to play a range of PlayStation titles on their mobile.

You will need root access to set this up, mind, so those of you who are nervous of tinkering with your Android blower or of invalidating your warranty may want to give this one a miss.

If you're ready and raring to go, though, the files you need and a brief walkthrough are available on the relevant XDA developers forums thread.

Once you've ported the Play's launcher and its certifications across to your X10, you will be able to download classic games such as Syphon Filter, WipEout, and MediEvil, which are only usually available to those with PlayStation-certified handsets.
