Last week, we told you that Psychonauts developer Double Fine was using Kickstarter to crowdsource funds for a new PC point-and-click adventure game, which the company has dubbed Double Fine Adventure.

The studio's founder, Tim Schafer, stated that he would also love to create Mac and iOS versions of the forthcoming game should his company receive more than the $400,000 needed to get the project up and running.

Double Fine has now received more than $1,848,214 in donations.

Schafer has confirmed in a YouTube video, which you can view below, that Mac, Linux, iOS, and even Android versions of Double Fine Adventure will be created with the surplus funds.

Update the masses

Furthermore, some of the extra cash will be spent on adding voice acting to the English version of the game, as well as on translating the title's text into French, Italian, German, and Spanish.

Backers of the project will be able to check out a closed beta of the game through Valve's Steam distribution platform, and will have access to a DRM-free version of Double Fine Adventure upon its release.
