Developer System 3 has just revealed several new details about its forthcoming PS Vita adventure Putty Squad, which sees you take control of an amorphous blob that can stretch, inflate, bounce, and flatten to nab items and save his friends.

For starters, the game will take full advantage of the Vita's in-built GPS system, and will allow you to collect Putty Squad Stickers for your own special in-game album.

As you fill your album's pages, you'll be rewarded with free avatars, bonuses, and even exclusive levels.

Speaking of levels, if you come across a particularly tough stage, you'll be able to pause your game and utilise the all-new Map mode, which lets you freely pan and zoom around each of the game's stages.

This will help you locate your missing buddies and plan the route you want to take to rescue them.

That's not all

System 3 has informed us that it will release "regular content" updates following Putty Squad's launch, which will possibly introduce new avatars, levels, and outfits.

Finally, you'll be able to unlock Trophies for your PSN profile, play your favourite levels over and over again in a special Time Trial mode, tune your skills in a Tutorial mode, and compete with other players on a series of online leaderboards.

A final release date for Putty Squad will be unveiled "soon". System 3 will also a release a short demo that will allow you to play through a few levels for free.

We'll let you know when you can get your mitts on it.
