Put your favourite songs at the centre of the action with Beat Hazard Ultra, a new musically powered iOS twin-stick shooter from Cold Beam Games.

Instead of throwing a handful of pre-prepared levels your way, Beat Hazard Ultra makes use of your own MP3 library to build the battlefield.

The game generates each stage by turning sound waves into enemy waves, creating a dynamic battleground that responds to whatever song you select.

And if you don't have any tunes on your iPhone or iPad, you'll be pleased to hear that the game responds just as well to radio apps.

The sound of progress

Survival, Boss Rush, and Chill Out modes offer a variety of challenges to keep things from getting predictable.

There's also a "1 stick" mode to ease newcomers into the experience, plus Game Centre support for leaderboards and achievements.

You can download Beat Hazard Ultra for iPhone and iPad from the App Store now, available at the special launch price of 69p / 99c.
