Welcome back to Pocket Gamer's round-up of the latest iPhone and iPad mid-week releases.

As you all probably know by now, we produce this article because we're simply too busy to bring you a story on every single new mid-week release.

These games have recently hit the New Zealand App Store, meaning they should be available to download in the UK and US from around midnight this evening.

iPhone Diggin' Dogs

This week's Chillingo release is packed full of puppies (get your mind out of the gutter). Your job is to guide your lovable canines as they dig deep into the earth, collect bones, and unearth buried treasure.

Naturally, each of the game's 61 levels is littered with several obstacles and hazards that have to be avoided, such as poisonous mushrooms and buzzing wasps.

DoDonPachi Blissful Death

If you're familiar with Cave, you'll already know that the Japanese developer specialises in fast-paced bullet-hell shooters.

DoDonPachi Blissful Death is one such shoot-'em-up. Check out the video below if you don't believe us.

Anyway, there are six different ships to pilot across four different difficulty levels, as well as a range of Game Center and OpenFeint achievements to unlock as you dodge waves of bullets. Or, at least, try to.

This time around, there are 100 new levels to tackle and five different ragdoll types to master: Classic, Ice, Fire, Pudge, and Robot.

Universal Raid Leader

You have three unique character classes at your disposal: a knight, who bravely fights face-to-face with his opponents; a hunter, who can perform fast and agile attacks; and a priest, who specialises in the use of healing magic.
