Monster Island (iPhone and iPad)

Monster Island is a Fragger-esque blow-'em-up in which you try to eradicate the monster thugs that are harassing the inhabitants of your colourful beast-filled world.

You attempt to wipe these meanies out over four different islands and more than 252 levels, using a range of special "mini monster bombs" - each of which houses a unique ability.

Thanks to Apple's Game Center, you can unlock shiny achievements to display on your profile as you play.

StarDunk Gold (Universal)

According to StarDunk Gold's App Store description, the title combines "the best of basketball, massive online competition, and retro games". We can't argue with that.

Your aim is to score more baskets than your opponents, who are other players from around the world.

During play, you can unlock more than 20 different varieties of ball, each of which features a unique capability. You can even create your own.
