Ubisoft has confirmed that its jumping the gun a little by making its PS Vita launch line-up available one week before Sony's newest handheld lands on US shelves.

Sony's powerhouse portable isn't due to touch down on North American or European soil until February 22nd, but the French publisher has announced that its first wave of Vita titles will be in stores as early as February 15th.

Why?

According to Ubisoft PR dude Alex Monney, the company wants to give gamers "the opportunity to build up their library prior to the launch of this highly anticipated PlayStation handheld".

The publisher also has its sights on buyers of the First Edition Vita bundles, which will be available a week in advance of the handheld's full launch.

Ubisoft plans on giving out more details of its launch line-up - which includes Dungeon Hunter Alliance, Rayman Origins, Asphalt Injection, and Lumines Electronic Symphony - later this week.
