Humorous turn-based strategy game Dungeon Crawlers comes to iOS
Will also appear on Android
Before new publisher Ayoga got involved, Drowning Monkeys' turn-based strategy game looked like it was going to be called Dungeon Tactics Strategy Quest.
So, while you might think Dungeon Crawlers sounds generic, the situation could have been a lot more boring.
Squad, marchAs for the action, it's a squad-based affair that has you in control of the each of the standard character classes - alchemist, priest, barbarian, and ... err ... drunken dwarf warrior - who are working their way through dungeons full of nasty monsters.
Something a little different to the majority of such games is what the developer describes as the humour of films such as Ghost Busters and Shrek. It's also reflected in the graphics, which have a colourful, cartoon style.
Gameplay-wise, you're using the various attributes of each character to ensure your group makes it through each goblin-infested hallway, lava-drenched cavern and slime-patrolled corridor.
Of course, you're also collecting loot and levelling up as you go through the game's five chapters - each of which contains a multi-level dungeon consisting of distinct environments, enemies, loot and a final boss to defeat.
Game Center is used to unlock a dozen achievements and track your access to in-game collectible trophies.
First released for iPhone and iPad as a universal app on 26th January, priced $1.99, €1.59 or $1.49, Dungeon Crawlers will also come to Android and PC/Mac at a later date.
