Apple has officially announced that it will host a special media event on education at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City on January 19th.

Next Thursday, in other words.

Don't get too excited, though. It's fair to assume that we won't be seeing the next iteration of iPad, won't be getting a sneak peek at the iPhone 5, and won't be stealing a glimpse at the heavily rumoured iTV.

Instead, the Cupertino-based company's event will probably centre on the addition of digital textbooks to Apple's iBookstore.

Pocket Gamer will keep you updated with anything remotely interesting.
