A new Android tablet that promises glasses-free 3D gaming is set to give the Nintendo 3DS a run for its money.

Meet the Wikipad: an 8-inch tablet with a 3D touchscreen display that doesn't require any expensive headgear to go with it.

The Wikipad runs Android's Ice Cream Sandwich OS, and ships with a gaming dock - complete with shoulder buttons, face buttons, and dual-analogue sticks - that has the potential to deliver a console level of control to tablet gamers.

Memories

The Wikipad also features a front- and rear-facing camera, HDMI out, and an expandable memory of up to 64GB.

Details on what's going on under the hood are being kept secret by manufacturer Wikipad Inc. for now, and that 8-inch 1080p display can't come cheap.

The Wikipad is slated for a spring launch, though, so expect more information on pricing to follow.
