Fishlabs bringing Galaxy on Fire 2: Valkyrie HD to the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 early this year

Developer Fishlabs has announced that it's bringing a special HD version of its Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning space adventure expansion pack Galaxy on Fire 2: Valkyrie to the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 in the "first quarter" of this year.

The high-definition add-on will arrive on the App Store packing completely "re-done" 3D models and textures that "take full advantage" of the dual-core A5 processor Apple uses to power its latest handhelds.

If you're still craving extra graphical shenanigans, though, fear not. There are new post, explosion, and special effects, as well as individual texture sets for diffuse, normal, and specular maps.

In layman's terms, it'll look bloody good.

When Galaxy on Fire 2: Valkyrie HD does finally drop, you'll be able to sync your progress between the SD and HD versions on your iPhone and iPad, and with the upcoming "Full HD" Mac release.

Blast off!

If you've already dipped you hand in your pocket and stumped up the cash for the non-HD version of Galaxy on Fire 2, you'll be able to nab Valkyrie HD completely free of charge. You will, however, need an iPhone 4S or an iPad 2, and Galaxy on Fire 2 HD to install it.

"A lot of fans have bought the HD-version of Galaxy on Fire 2 despite the fact that they already owned the SD-version of the game. And they have not only bought the HD-version to max out the capacities of their new iPhones 4S or iPads 2, but also to support us," Michael Schade, Fishlabs CEO, said.

"Hence, we would like to thank our fan-base for their support with this special offer."
