EA working on free-to-play strategy MMO Command and Conquer: Tiberium Alliances for mobiles and browsers, closed beta launches today

EA has announced plans to launch strategy MMO Command and Conquer: Tiberium Alliances on mobiles.

Currently in development at Phenomic, Tiberium Alliances will join EA’s play4free library of games supporting both mobiles and browsers.

As the game's name suggests, all of the action will take place in the Tiberium universe, where The Global Defense Initative and Brotherhood of Nod are locked in a war over a highly sought-after resource known as (wait for it) Tiberium.

Another faction causing trouble will be the Forgotten - groups of humans who have suffered mental and physical mutation from Tiberium exposure.

Forging ahead

"Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances is the first MMO and first free-to-play game for the long-running Command & Conquer series. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to forge new ground with this acclaimed franchise," Martin Lohlein, senior producer at Phenomic, said.

"We're hoping to deliver an experience that will allow our loyal fans to play their favorite franchise anywhere they go, while introducing the exciting world of Tiberium to new players."

Closed beta testing for the free-to-play Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances begins today. Those wishing to take part should sign up here.
