Super Mario 3D Land for 3DS has won the Best Handheld / Mobile Game trophy at the 2011 Spike Video Game Awards.

Nintendo's PG Gold Award-winning platformer went up against a handful of nominees in the Handheld / Mobile category, including DS thriller Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, Halfbrick's iOS endless-flyer Jetpack Joyride, and Chair Entertainment’s iOS epic Infinity Blade. Super Mario 3D Land launched worldwide last month, and has become the fastest-selling portable Mario game ever already, boasting sales of over 1 million copies.
