A re-worked version of Kingdom Conquest, one of our highest rated iOS freemium games, will be heading to the PlayStation Vita by the name of Samurai & Dragons.

If you haven’t already heard of Kingdom Conquest, it’s a freemium title that combines action-RPG arena fights with strategic resource management.

We awarded it a Silver Award on its iOS release, and it now boasts over 1.2 million players worldwide.

Samurai & Dragons looks set to retain the core gameplay elements of Kingdom Conquest, but with a new interface and control system more suited to the platform.

Talking to Famitsu, Kingdom Conquest producer Masayoshi Mikuchi said that Sega "chose the Vita as the target system (because) it's a portable platform that's always connected to the Internet."

Samurai & Dragons has no release date yet, but the game will debut next week at the Jump Festa in Toykyo.
