Sega’s Football Manager Handheld 2012 kicks off at midnight for iOS systems

Sega and Sports Interactive have sent their star player Football Manager Handheld 2012 out into the App Store tunnel, with kickoff for the game expected at midnight tonight.

Speaking in the Sport's Interactive forums, boss Miles Jacobson revealed the first details on what FMH2012 will contain, confirming that it would be available as a Universal app for both iPhone and iPad this season.

Jacobson also shed some light on the game’s new features, which include updated leagues and competitions, a tweaked user interface, Facebook integration, search filters, and the ability to load and save shortlists.

The number of playable leagues has been expanded, too, so if you've ever dreamt of managing in the Welsh Premier League or Blue Square North/South, now's your chance.

Alongside the relationship-straining main game, FMH2012 also introduces a new Challenge mode, which puts you in short-term situations like a relegation battle or picking a squad gutted by injury, and tasks you with prevailing against the odds.

Football Manager Handheld 2012 will be released at around midnight tonight on iPhone and iPad, priced at £6.99 / $9.99.
