Gameloft launches modern warfare shooter Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front on the official Android Market as a freemium game

Gameloft’s latest addition to the official Android Market brings the cost of war to an all-time low.

Downloadable on Gameloft's proprietary shopping channel for over a year, WWII shooter Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front has just been redeployed on the Android Market as a free-to-play game, meaning you can now storm the beaches without risking your wallet in the crossfire.

Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front's single-player campaign boasts 50 missions of historic action, which span North Africa, Sicily, Normandy, and Germany.

As you battle your way though the bullet-laden fields, you will unlock new weapons and customisation options that will transform your soldier into the perfect instrument of war.

There's also a multiplayer mode available that allows you to locate up to six allies (or enemies) via Bluetooth or wi-fi, before you pump them full of lead across five maps and three game modes.

This is for fighting, this is for fun

This freemium Android incarnation of Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front is supported by ads, so you’ll have to tolerate some extraneous text if you’re keeping things frugal.

If you’re a little impatient and prepared to splash out, you can purchase Medals to unlock certain features more quickly. This is by no means essential, though, as all features can eventually be unlocked through normal game progression.

The Pocket Gamer Bronze Award-winning Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front can be commandeered from the Android Market for free today [download].
