Latest To-Fu: The Trials of Chi iOS update removes app's price, introduces irritating ads

The latest update to HotGen's Pocket Gamer Bronze Award-winning iPhone and iPad title To-Fu: The Trials of Chi has caused a bit of a stir.

Why?

Well, despite the update making the rock-solid platformer - and all of its in-app purchases - available for free, it introduces pesky ads that flash up at the bottom of your device's screen as you play. This has upset some of the players that bought the title for 69p / 99c.

Golden Touch

Forgetting that for a second, the upgrade means you can now grab the illustrious Golden To-Fu without having to spend cash on an in-app payment. If you're unfamiliar with this shiny piece of curd, it allows you - once every four hours - to instantly complete any level that you find particularly tricky.

Finally, To-Fu: The Trials of Chi version 1.10.0 adds five all-new trials, which (as always) task you with pinging your ninja soya bean through hazard-crammed dojos.

If you're yet to take To-Fu: The Trials of Chi for a spin, you can grab it for both your iPhone [download] and iPad [download] for free.
