Furry blocks are set to become furry cubes when Zoo Keeper 3D arrives on the Nintendo 3DS next year.

The original Zoo Keeper is a block-matching puzzle title with a bestial spin, requiring you to jam cutesy creatures together with geometric precision.

According to a Japanese HMV listing, Zoo Keeper 3D will have eight game modes, multiplayer support, and online leaderboards.

There's no word yet as to whether the game will also see a release in the West, but given previous entries in the series have appeared on these shores we wouldn't bet against it popping up at some point next year.

Zoo Keeper 3DS is expected to launch in Japan on 26th January, 2012.
