The Pocket Gamer Bronze Award winning Flick Fishing has been updated, gaining new fish, locations, a new mode, and a couple of extra gizmos.

The update provides three new species of fish for you to reel in, with the Roosterfish, Cobia, and Black Marlin now swimming their way around the in-game waters.

You’ll be able to pursue these catches in two new locations, available as in-app purchases: NoBeard’s Cave and Shipwreck Shores.

There's also a new game mode. Challenge tasks you with catching new and record-breaking fish, or completing specific challenges doled out by "the Old Guy in the Lighthouse" in order to earn "Chocolate Doubloons". As you can see, Flick Fishing doesn’t always take itself entirely seriously.

Finally, there’s a collection of smaller additions included in the update, including a new collectable item system, unlockable reel designs, and two new unlockable gizmos – the Super Line and the Treasure Finder. Furthermore, all gizmos now have unlockable ‘Plus’ versions, which have increased effectiveness.

It's a hefty update (though sadly not a free one), and it's available now.
