Bullet-hell specialist Cave has announced that it's bringing another new shooter to iOS in "winter 2011", in the form of "legendary" arcade-shmup Bug Princess.

The vertically scrolling action game will feature two different modes: a complex score attack mode called Maniac, and an "overwhelming" mode called Ultra.

Bug Princess was first released for arcade machines back in 2004, and was subsequently ported to Microsoft's Xbox Live service in 2009.

We awarded iOS spin-off Mushihimesama Bug Panic a prestigious Pocket Gamer Silver Award when it hit the App Store back in November of last year.

We don't currently have a solid release date - or a price - for the upcoming release, but we'll let you know when we do.
