Bespoke iPhone edition of Gold Award winner Ticket to Ride steams onto the App Store for 69p / 99c

Six months after Ticket to Ride for iPad pulled into the App Store and earned itself a PG Gold Award, Days of Wonder has released an iPhone version of its acclaimed boardgame adaptation.

Designed from the ground up for the smaller iPhone touchscreen, Ticket to Ride Pocket focusses exclusively on the US map that made the original boardgame so compelling.

For those unfamiliar with the Ticket to Ride experience, you compete against either four AI personalities or your buddies in a race to build rail networks across America before the others.

Two multiplayer modes are available in Ticket to Ride Pocket: the traditional pass-the-handset option and local network play over wi-fi or Bluetooth. In addition, those toting iPads are able to challenge their iPhone-wielding friends or family seamlessly.

On top of this, the game features 20 achievements via Apple's Game Center, as well as leaderboards showing the highest-scoring players and a two-minute tutorial video.
