Mid-week iOS releases: Aquaria, Chicken Rescue, Poker Pals, and more

Welcome back to Pocket Gamer's round-up of the latest iPhone and iPad mid-week releases.

As you all probably know by now, we produce this article because we're simply too busy to bring you a story on every single new mid-week release.

We've definitely seen better weeks here at Pocket Gamer Towers, but we can still welcome award-winning iPad adventure Aquaria to the App Store.

These games have recently hit the New Zealand App Store, meaning they should be available to download in the UK and US from around midnight this evening.

Downloadable first-person role-playing PlayStation Network title Wizardy Labyrinth of Lost Souls is now also available to purchase from Apple's App Store.

Set in a distant land, Wizardy Labyrinth of Lost Souls invites you to take on the role of an 'adventurer', and set out on a quest to battle beasts, collect treasures, and unleash magic attacks.

According to its App Store description, Poker Pals is "poker redefined", with familiar cards but "totally different" gameplay.

You can challenge your buddies through Apple's Game Center, play a complete stranger online, and juggle as many simultaneous games as your brain can handle.

Independent Games Festival-winning Aquaria is a side-scrolling adventure game that sees you assume the role of mysterious aquatic girl Naija on a quest to find your / her missing family.

You can use Naija's singing ability to change your form, overcome obstacles, affect other creatures, and can use the game's "cooking system" to combine items you find throughout your underwater journey.

Cosmic Cab is a Crazy Taxi-esque driving game set in outer space, which tasks you with picking up alien customers and ferrying them to their destinations.

You'll earn tips for breaking safety regulations and frantically speeding to each desired location.

Your goal in TrafficVille HD is to control traffic lights and manoeuvre cars, trains, and fire engines in order to avoid crashes and unsavoury traffic jams.

TrafficVille HD currently features support for OpenFeint, but Game Center is also "coming soon".

Chicken Rescue is a tilt-based arcade game in which you help Mama Chicken guide her lost chicks back to their cozy coop.

There are plenty of obstacles for you to avoid en route to your goal, such as trees, hungry pigs, and barrels. Collectible coins allow you to buy boosts and skins for your cluckers.

iCloud support means you can start playing on one device and pick up from where you left off on another.

Aimed at kids between the ages of two and six, Chillingo's The Moogies allows you to interact with nine different Moogies, who will talk to you in their "silly babble language".

There are also a variety of unique objects to tap on and play with, all of which react with "comical animations".
