Resident Evil: Revelations for 3DS will cost extra due to the amount of content on offer

Full voice acting and 20 hours of gameplay squeezed into a 4GB cartridge

Resident Evil: Revelations for 3DS will cost extra due to the amount of content on offer

The last Resident Evil game for 3DS - namely Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D - was pretty good, and we're looking forward to digging into the upcoming Resident Evil: Revelations.

It sounds like we're going to be paying that little bit extra for the privilege, though, as Capcom has revealed that the game will come with a hiked-up price tag.

In the US, Resident Evil: Revelations on 3DS will retail for $50, rather than the usual $40. No word on the UK or European pricing is available yet.

A Capcom spokesperson explained to Kotaku that the amount of content stored on the game's cartidge has led to the boost in price - in fact, the game requires a 4GB cartidge due to the sheer wealth of content.

Fear me

"Resident Evil: Revelations is an all new Resident Evil title with over 20 hours of gameplay, and cutscenes beautifully rendered in fear-inducing 3D," the spokesperson explained.

"A true console experience on a handheld device, Resident Evil: Revelations is an epic title that offers both a single-player campaign for that classic survival horror gaming experience, and an additional RAID mode that can be played cooperatively or single player.

"To handle all of that data Resident Evil: Revelations requires a 4GB cartridge, resulting in a higher price point."

What do you reckon, readers - will you be happy to fork out extra monies for a meatier game?
