A firmware update for the 3DS looks set to roll out on November 4th. The update, which we detailed last month, adds a couple of new features to Nintendo’s handheld.

3D video recording is one such feature, using the console's two rear-facing cameras to capture video for playback on the device.

A new game for the 3DS’s StreetPass mode is also promised, as well as improvements to the StreetPass Mii Plaza.

Finally, the Nintendo eShop will apparently see some improvement in the update, although whether this will be in terms of content or functionality is still unknown. A little of both would be welcome in our view.

With November 4th only weeks away, you can expect plenty more detail on this update in the coming days.
