Classic PC first-person shooter Duke Nukem 3D is heading to the Android Market, courtesy of MachineWorks Northwest and Tapjoy.

The 1996 title - the one that isn’t a bitter disappointment - plonks you in the shoes of the titular braggadocio, as he goes about paying back aliens for shooting down his ride.

And rescuing half-naked women from incubating slime things by shooting them in the face.

Forever Young

The iOS version of the game launched two years ago, and is notorious for having one of the most complicated control schemes of all touchscreen shooters (after updates, that is).

We’re not-so-secretly hoping that MachineWorks has tightened the control mechanism up for the franchise's Android debut.

We shouldn’t have to wait too long to find out, as the game is scheduled to launch on the Android Market "very soon".
